Country Engagement
Claudia and I had a pretty special country engagement session with Kirsten and Carl a little while ago. Carl and I grew up three houses apart as kids, and our parents still live there! I used to hang around his younger sister, but Carl was always so patient with us as kids and would humour us as we’d follow him and his friends around. We’d watch them play road hockey (digging balls out of the ditch for them or taking slap shots here and there), kicking soccer ball around in someone’s backyard, riding bikes, and Carl even taught me how to play the most awesome board game ever – Fireball Island. I remember playing that game for hours with Carl and Connie, even though Carl probably wouldn’t admit it to his friends at the time. ๐
When Carl reached out and asked Claudia and I if we would be interested in shooting his and Kirsten’s engagement session and wedding, I welled up a little. I say this time and time again how amazing it is for us to do what we do, but when it hits this close to home, it becomes even more special.
Kirsten is an incredible girl. I can see why Carl fell in love with her. She’s not only beautiful, but she’s funny, witty and really keeps him on his toes. We couldn’t be happier for them, and can’t wait for their wedding next Thanksgiving at Waterstone Estates and Farm.
