Intimate Haliburton Wedding

July was an insane month for us. Claudia and I travelled what seemed to be a million kilometres in the span of three days. Crystal + Jesse’s intimate Haliburton wedding was just what we needed to unwind. We set out on a gorgeous Saturday morning bound for Kennisis Lake. Crystal and I have been good friends since high school, and I was so pumped we were going to capture her big day. Crystal is one of those friends who has a light that shines inside and out. I used to drag her around and use her for a model in high school for my photography projects. When she reached out about her wedding date, she was ready for me to say we were booked. But, the stars aligned, and it was the ONLY free Saturday we had in July. And when she told me it was going to be an intimate wedding in Haliburton at her parent’s place, I was squealing with excitement.

There were so many incredible touches at this wedding, including Jesse cooking the entire meal! Lobsters, mussels, oysters, steaks, salads….oh, and the best green beans with pecans. I’m still dreaming about those damn beans. I reconnected with so many old friends, and we were welcomed by so many new friends. This wedding is one of those ones that has left a serious mark on our hearts. When I was going through the images for the blog, I could FEEL it. This is a wedding I will never forget how it felt. So much love, a beautiful summer day, a cool summer evening with the smokey BBQ filling the air….the laughter of kids jumping off the dock.
